Upcoming Race!

A couple of our I Run FHG runners have a race coming up this weekend! You can support us by sponsoring them in their race! Here's the letter they sent out on our behalf. We would appreciate your prayers and support!

Dear Friends and Family,

The Context:
Three years ago, on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, we met Jackie and Alan Perez.   During that trip we saw the work this young couple is involved in with their parent organization, G.O. Ministries.  Over the last couple of years, we have continued to build our relationship with this ministry, and with Jackie and Alan, specifically.  We believe the work they are doing in the Dominican Republic and

Haiti is changing lives, and as a result we’ve decided to support Jackie and Alan by combining our pursuit of fitness with an ongoing fund-raising effort. 

The Goal:
We are aiming to raise $5000 during 2011 to support Jackie and Alan through their Run for His Glory race sponsorship program, which you can read more about here.  Since our son, Elijah, is still a bit too young to take on mission trips, we decided that “Run for His Glory” is how we can still serve the Lord as a family, and increase our motivation to stay healthy for when we can head back out to the Dominican Republic together.

In the first half of 2011, we (Matt, Brooke, & yes, Elijah) are participating in the following races on behalf of the Perez’s:
