Week 1 of Training

Today marks the end of week one of our 12 week training program leading up to the Rock and Roll Vegas Mini Marathon.

Here's what we did this week:

Sunday: Strengthen and Stretch- I need to get better at this. I don't do either very well!
Monday: 3 mile run
Tuesday: 2 mile run
Wednesday: 3 mile run + strength training
Thursday: Rest
Friday: 30 minutes cross-training (I push my gigantic double stroller and both babies around the park across from our house, and it is a workout!!)
Saturday: 4 mile run

It went really well this week! Both Alan and I are training and I am so thankful for a husband who loves the Lord, and helps us both find time to train. I usually go in the mornings after we feed the babies and he goes in the evenings after we put them to bed. This morning he actually sterilized all the bottles and did the dishes so I could get out of the house while it was still cool! I am very blessed!

Welcome!

Welcome to The Perez Running Team Blog!

We are passionate about Jesus and sharing His love and peace with those in need. Specifically we work and live in the Dominican Republic and minister to Dominicans, Haitians, and North-Americans. We are blessed and humbled to serve God here!

On Sunday, December 5, 2010, I (Jackie) will be running in the Rock-n-Roll Vegas half marathon in Las Vegas, NV (my home town!!) We are doing this as a way to raise support and awareness for our ministries here in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

By sponsoring me as I run the half-marathon, it is just one way to help us continue our passionate work in the Dominican Republic and Haiti!
